Amy, a web fashionista and Jasper, an art mogul wanted to do something a little different. The plan was to simply photograph them at the comfort of their home portraying their real personalities. With that being said, I would have to honestly say I had one of the most fun times photographing this crazy dynamic duo. Like they say, opposites attract. Both their personalities are complete opposite but the love they have for each other, is nonetheless – the same. By looking at their photos I can assume you know who is the serious+reserved+laid back and who’s the spunky+crazy+off the hook go crazy person.

Thank you Amy+Jasper for letting me be part of this special part your lives. Congratulations on your engagement, your new home and the new addition to the family. I look forward to your amazing and beautiful wedding next year. Love you guys!

This time it was for Elise+Andrew’s wedding! They’re wedding couldn’t have been more perfect. Elise+Andrew got ready at the Grand Wailea and exchanged their vows at Gannon’s (Amazing views!). Friends and family flew in from thousands of miles to witness the two and to catch a glimpse of the Pacific Hawaiian breeze. Thank you Elise+Andrew for letting me be part of your wedding celebration. You both were amazing to work with!

In another note, a few local wedding vendors from Maui said I should just move there because they would see me quite often. This may just be an option in the future as I am already calling Maui my 2nd home. Maui is just so beautiful!

This was a wedding which included some cool accessories such as Jimmy Choo+Chuck Taylors. Put all the cool accessories aside and here you got the most humble, sweetest and kindest couple ever. What really touched and inspired me the most was that their first priority over anything was serving God. Diane a finance consultant and Byron an attorney, both quit their jobs right before their wedding so they can extends God’s love and message in Africa.

Their wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. Weather held up comfortably and beautifully with friends and family traveling from thousands of miles meeting in the middle of the Pacific just to witness the two. And of course, who cannot forget the vendors who helped made it happen for all of them. Floral design by the amazing Yvonne+Alex from Yvonne Design, coordination by Pacific Aisles, cinematography by FishEye Studio, Music by Troy Michael DJ and the amazing staff at the JW Ihilani Resort.

Cheryl+Michael lucked out on having this amazing venue as their backdrop for their wedding. Originally,  the wedding was planned to be held somewhere else but due to unforeseen circumstances, they had to change venues. It was a blessing in disguise. Cheryl+Michael had the perfect wedding and I thought I can only dream to photograph breathtaking venues such as Anna Ranch.

Most people would think that the weather was not perfect but to me, it was immaculate. The weather showed every aspect of rain, cloud, wind, sun, blue skies and a beautiful lit rainbow.  It would rain for 5 minutes, and there would be sunshine for another 5 minutes. This went on throughout the day. It’s like mother nature couldn’t make up her mind. My thoughts were to take advantage of the weather and utilize it in a such a way to enhance the essence of the wedding. And yes, I stayed out while it rained. I got soaked, I got a bit drenched…but was it all worth it? Most definitely! Thank you Cheryl+Michael for having me be part of your wedding day. You both make such a beautiful couple. You’re love for each is an inspiration to me and it reminds me why I love my job so much.

It will help ease the nervousness of being in front of the camera on your wedding day. With a session already taken place, you feel a bit more comfortable and relaxed as you’ve already experienced how your photographer works. Believe me, most couples tell me they feel like professional models on their big day.

Shelley+Trace wanted to include a few props into their session. Shelley an avid book reader wanted to showcase her favorite book, Harry Potter while Trace simply wanted his little geek tablet, the iPad. They also wanted a way to utilize their car into the photos as well.

Here’s some behind the scene footage of what to expect during a Trash the Dress session. I am deeply honored and very fortunate to have my friends, the amazingly talented Kristy+Joel from Studio Red follow me on this excursion. This session was actually shot almost two years ago and I can clearly remember all the details that happened on this day (and of course from their wedding as well – which was published in Pacific Weddings Magazine). Jenny+Christian were absolute troopers taking risks and trusting me to go a little beyond my limits. In all honesty, I had nothing planned. I’ve learned that being spontaneous always enables me to let loose of my creativity and creates amazing images.

Studio Red did an outstanding job filming this session. Simply one of the best in the industry – island wide and nationally. If you’re looking for a videographer to document your wedding day/trash the dress session, look them up. It’s almost guaranteed that their work will blow you out of your chair.
